Help Wanted - Theatre Operations Coordinator
Job Overview
Under the supervision of the Artistic Director, the Theatre Operations Coordinator (TOC) is responsible for supervising, organizing, and managing all Box Office and Front-of-House operations at Amelia Community Theatre (ACT) in support of the mission of ACT, as well as for assisting the Artistic Director in the execution of non-production theatre operations. The TOC will work in collaboration with ACT staff and volunteers. The ACT Box Office is open Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 11am - 1pm and opens 90 minutes before each performance.
Part-Time salaried position, averaging 25 hours per week. (some weeks will require more hours, some fewer, but 25 on average)
Pay: $425/week
Duties and responsibilities:
Box Office

Present for daytime box office hours regularly Wednesday - Friday, 11am-1pm.

Present for showtime box office hours regularly 90 minutes prior to a performance.

Control and sell admission to all ticketed events.

Return all Box Office and ticketing inquiries or orders in a timely manner.

Answer phone calls, assist patrons, take messages, receive deliveries, check out scripts, check general theatre emails, and let volunteers into the building.

Manage all monies and credit card sales.

Implement ACT ticketing and retail offerings in box office software, including tickets, passes, workshop and camp registrations, discount and comp structures. Coordinate with ACT Ed and coproduction partners as needed.

Prepare box office statements and settlements.

Keep box office database up to date with patron information.

Assist with mailings, ticket drives, and special projects

Schedule box office volunteers for work shifts.

Ensure all box office volunteers are competent with the box office software.

Set a good example for good customer service.

Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
Front of House
-
Schedule and supervise front-of-house volunteers for ACT performances.

Ensure lobby coverage during performances until theatre closing.

Provide training for front-of-house volunteers as needed
-
Maintain documentation of volunteer job descriptions and job aides.

Coordinate with concessions volunteers to manage revenues and maintain inventory
Theatre Operations

Assist the Artistic Director with special projects or general office work as needed.

Operational duties may include, as appropriate:

Marketing design work, printed and/or website

Filing and data entry
-
Social media content, scheduling, posting and engagement

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:

Capability to conduct oneself with a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with the public and/or with difficult situations.

Professional communication skills, ability to represent ACT well to patrons

Attention to detail and organization.

Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.

Flexible availability, including nights and weekends when required for performances
Education and Experience
-
Computer literacy required.

Two years of professional work experience required
-
Experience with ticketing software a plus.

Front-of-House experience a plus.
-
Marketing and social media experience a plus.
