SUMMER CANCELLATIONS

Hello Friends of ACT,

I am writing to you today from my new socially distanced office in our Main Stage Lobby. I, along with Geoffrey, our technical director, and Meghan, our box office manager, am excited to be back on the ACT campus this week!

We are continuing our work on preparing the Main Stage for the eventual return of our dedicated volunteers who will act in and produce our next show. Likewise, we know you are fully aware of the safety precautions our community's businesses are following, so of course, we will be following new safety protocols when we open our doors to the public.

Here's an updated list of shows and summer camps that have been canceled:

June ... Radium Girls, Musical Theatre Camp, Elementary Drama Camp

July ... Teen Shakespeare Camp, One Man, Two Guvnors

August ... Matilda, the Musical

The Book of Will is still postponed. We will be in touch as soon as possible to provide the new performance dates.

Season Ticket Holders and patrons who have purchased tickets for the above shows will be contacted by Meghan, our box office manager, regarding these cancellations.

Could you please help ACT today?

As the Executive Director of ACT, I am proud to lead this non-profit, volunteer-based organization that has a longtime history of presenting more than 280 shows over the past 39 years. ACT would never have come this far without your support ... and it needs your love and generosity now more than ever!

Did you know that donations are approximately 25% of our season's budget? That means ticket sales are the lifeline of our theatre. In fact, the cancellations and changes to this season's shows and camps represent a loss of almost $80,000 in earned income.

Bottom line? After nearly 40 years of presenting high-quality live theatre on Amelia Island, ACT has prepared for losses of income. However, the breadth of loss from the pandemic is unprecedented.

The heart of Amelia Community Theatre is you, our community. I am asking you to help ACT now by donating. I look forward to having you all back at the theatre again as soon as we can do so safely and responsibly.

Thank you for your support,

Tener

P.S. There are three easy ways to make a tax-deductible donation to ACT. Online by clicking YES, I WANT TO DONATE!, call our box office at (904) 261-6749, or mail a check with your name and address to 209 Cedar St. Fernandina Beach FL 32034.
